Looking to fire up the grill and make some grilled octopus in the coming weeks. Thus far all I can find is a precooked option at Whole Foods. Thoughts? _________________ My reviews on yelp: http://www.yelp.com/user_details?userid=U4INQZOPSUaj8hMjLlZ3KA

Wow. This is a tough one. I can't say that I have ever seen raw, uncooked & unfrozen octopus for sale in Columbus. Or even frozen and uncooked. My best advice would be go to Tensuke; I have seen cooked octopus there, so perhaps they get it in and steam it, but I'm not sure. Look in the fresh & frozen section. I have definitely seen cooked octopus there, and you might ask them to special order it for you. Almost everyone speaks fluent English so it is very easy to ask for help there.
My second thought would be Columbus Asian Market, corner of Bethel & Olentangy. They have a large, rotating stock of fresh & frozen seafood of all sorts.
Let us know if you find any!! And take pictures - how exciting! _________________ http://www.restaurantwidow.com

Thanks, I'll check it out.
Being a Toledo native with the Redwings just up the road, finding Octopus around this time a year was simple.....though i prefer to cook mine, rather than throw it on the ice of Joe Louis Arena. _________________ My reviews on yelp: http://www.yelp.com/user_details?userid=U4INQZOPSUaj8hMjLlZ3KA

| Weiland's usually has uncooked frozen baby octopus in the freezer case by the fish counter. I've bought it before to make Greek style grilled octopus. It's quite good. I'd second Lisa's call on Tensuke. I know they have it cooked, but if they get it in raw, I bet you could special order some.

| Was in Weiland's over the weekend and they have raw frozen whole Spanish octopus for 8.99/lb. I think each one was around a pound or a little less and there was one per package.

I was on vacation last week and picked one up at the Eastern Market in Detroit. Grilled it on a skewer, marinated w/ EVOO, Peppercorn, and a decent white wine vinegar. It was amazing.
My June is pretty rough since I'm on service, thus I have minimal time to cook, but I'll definitely check it out when things slow down. _________________ My reviews on yelp: http://www.yelp.com/user_details?userid=U4INQZOPSUaj8hMjLlZ3KA
