I was just over at David Lebovitz's blog and he posted that the Cuisinart Ice Cream maker is only $20 (factory reconditioned) at Amazon.com. I bought one because I've been wanting an ice cream maker for ages and this one usually costs $50.

that will come in really handy in June! Until then, I am sworn to secrecy. I'll just say, be sure to keep an eye out for the June issue of Food & Wine!

I helped test the ice cream recipe, so I can personally vouch for its deliciousness!

I looked for the magazine last night at Giant Eagle but had no luck. I suppose I'll have to get to a Barnes & Noble sometime. I did get my machine last night and I also got a copy of David Lebovitz's book, The Perfect Scoop. The recipes look great and he gives step by step instructions, which I need since I've never made ice cream before. I think I'm going to try his Chooclate, Philadelphia-style ice cream first, it seems like a relatively easy one to try first and then I'm definitely trying that Pistachio ice cream in Food & Wine!

Count me among the inspired who've ordered the Cuisinart ICE-20 ice cream maker. Should get it in another day or two. I will also be an ice-cream maker newbie. Regarding Jeni's with awe & reverence, to think that I could make something even 1/4 as good... Ok, now I need a drool bib. For some reason, the idea of watermelon sorbet sounds really good to me right now.
